If you've enjoyed the Summer Season at Port Hope's Capitol Theatre and wonder how they are going to follow it up in the fall, mark Oct. 5 on your calendar for their 2024 Season Launch.
The Capitol describes the free event as “a night of live performances, exciting news and the third year of Artistic Director Rob Kempson's signature season song.”
The announcement also says that the focus for 2024 is celebrating community.
“Each of our offerings onstage celebrates that wonderful spark that can happen when people come together to make something better. And that exact spark is what we love about making theatre – creating opportunities for the folks in our community (and beyond) to have a shared artistic community,” it said.
The programming is not only more diverse, it continued, it has been shaped by listening to the needs of the community. Those in the audience can expect to hear more about an expansion of their Billboard in Concert series, more use of the more intimate Sculthorpe Theatre, more programming for children and families, and three world premieres.
In addition to the entertainment and the announcements, this free event is an opportunity to get early-bird subscription pricing and other special offers – not to mention a night of social fun.
The Capitol is located at 20 Queen St., and the Season Launch takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the main stage. And while is it free, seats must be reserved. For more information, call 905-885-1071.
