Northumberland Hills Hospital has issued a reminder to local students – just one month remains for you to apply for the annual Health Profession Scholarship awards if you want to beat the deadline of 4 p.m. March 31.
Introduced by the hospital in 2003, this program was meant to provide financial assistance to West Northumberland students pursuing a career in the health-care sector. By supporting local students in these endeavours, it was thought they might consider NHH in their career path after graduation.
Applicants are evaluated on the basis of their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, a testimonial explaining their interest in a health-care career and written references. All applicants must be enrolled in or accepted for enrollment in a full-time study program.
For 2023, two $1,500 awards are available. The long-standing tradition of announcing the recipients at a spring meeting of the hospital's board of directors.
