Handbags For Hospice tickets on sale

Community Care Northumberland announces that Wednesday at 10 a.m. Is when tickets go on sale for the fourth annual Handbags For Hospice fundraiser for Ed's House, to be held April 20 at the Cobourg Lions' Community Centre.
This evening of fun, fashion and friends has become a signature event for the women of Northumberland, offering evening of entertainment, refreshments, the chance to bid on a wide selection of handbags and experiences, and a fun night out with friends – all in support of the Northumberland Hospice Care Centre.
Ed's House Special Events Committee Chair Nancy Oliver promises “a large assortment of handbags and other auction items to bid on, as well as live-auction attractions, which will include the All Season and the Family Fun Packages.
“We will be selling our popular Platinum Ticket to win a marquee prize everyone will love, or the Treasure Chest filled with lots of appealing items, We hope you will join us in supporting Ed's House.”
This year's event welcomes back emcee York Bell-Smith, along with Scott MacCoubrey. Tony Pulla of Re-Max Lakeshore Realty is also returning as Signature Sponsor, and Jacqueline Pennington of Re/Max Hallmark is this year's Pearl Sponsor (sponsorships are still available – for more information, contact Donor Relations at 905-885-0466).
Proceeds from this event will support resident care at Ed's House, located at 1301 Ontario St. in Hamilton Township.
Community Care Northumberland Chief Executive Officer Trish Baird expressed pride in this signature event.
“Every year, we are challenged with raising more than a million dollars to support the operation of Ed's House. As one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, much-needed funds are brought forth through this event, thanks to the efforts of the Special Events Committee and the tremendous support of this community,” Baird said in the press release.
“We look forward to another fun evening, supporting the important work Ed's House does for our community.”
Doors open at the Lions Centre at 6 p.m. April 20, and the event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person, and table of eight are available.
