The Town of Cobourg's Community Services Division welcomes you to Winterfest on January 28.
Sponsored by the Government of Ontario's Reconnect Ontario grant and Loyalist College, the event is an exciting opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy, with fun (and free) activities for the whole family – along with the chance to explore downtown shops and eateries while viewing the beautiful ice sculptures on display along King Street.
Between 11 a.m. And 4 p.m., these activities include:
Skating on the Rotary Harbourfront Outdoor Rink at 37 Albert St., accompanied by the music from a DJ and a special appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog
Horse-and-wagon rides around town, departing from Rotary Harbourfront Park
Warriors Axe Throwing exhibitions
As well, picnic tables will be set up where you can enjoy take-out from a local restaurant in the winter sunshine.
The evening will ring a 7 p.m. Cobourg Cougars game, where the home-town team will take on Burlington at the Cobourg Community Centre – tickets are available at the door.
Also, from 7 to 9 p.m., the DJ is back at the Rotary Harbourfront Outdoor Rink to provide the sound track to a neon skating party. Then, at 9 p.m., watch the fireworks over the harbour (rescheduled from New Year's Eve).
Please remember – Winterfest activities are scheduled on a weather-permitting basis. For more details, check out the Experience Cobourg Facebook page or visit ExperienceCobourg.ca/festivals.
