Movies in the Park returns

By Cecilia Nasmith

Experience Cobourg is pleased to announce the 2022 lineup of films planned for this summer’s Movies in the Park.

These free al fresco films give families and friends a chance to enjoy a relaxing summer Saturday evening in Cobourg’s beautiful Victoria Park. Bring your popcorn, grab a blanket or lawn chair, and prepare to enjoy an exciting evening under the stars watching films projected onto a giant inflatable outdoor movie screen with a powerful video projector and concert-quality sound system.

This year's line-up includes Smallfoot on July 9, Playing With Fire on Aug. 20 and The Addams Family 2 on Sept. 3.

“We are excited to once again host Movies in the Park, a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to come out to our beautiful park and enjoy this free outdoor experience,” said Councillor Adam Bureau, Co-ordinator of Arts, Culture and Tourism.

“This year’s movie line-up includes action-packed comedies that will be fun for all ages.”

All movies begin at 8:30 p.m., and the town reminds movie goers that waterfront parking is free after 9 p.m. - and downtown parking is free after 6 p.m. Washrooms will be open for the duration of the film.

If you are in the mood for dinner and a movie, stop by one of the waterfront food trucks – Personal Touch Catering and Hot Diggidy Dog. Or if you want to make it a date night, enjoy a great meal and spectacular view at the Cobourg Yacht Club by Arthur's Pub patio extension.

Remember that Movies in the Park are subject to weather cancellations in the event of lightning or any other unsafe conditions. Notice of cancellation will be posted on Experience Cobourg's Twitter and Facebook accounts as well as the Town of Cobourg's municipal website at Cobourg.ca.
