The “Stars of Port Hope” will have their night to shine May 12, as Port Hope stages its annual Civic Awards ceremony at 7 p.. at the Capitol Theatre.
These awards recognize the contributions and achievements of individuals and groups that bring honour and enrichment to the Municipality of Port Hope.
The ceremony is free to attend, although award recipients are asked to reserve seats by contacting the Capitol Theatre at 905-885-1071 or at the theatre's website.
Attendees are reminded of the Capitol Theatre COVID-19 safety policy in place. All guests and media entering the theatre must provide proof of full vaccination as well as a personal photo ID. As well, everyone must wear masks except when eating or drinking.
The ceremony will include an assortment of local entertainers, and will be followed by a reception with cash bar and light refreshments.
The Capitol is located at 20 Queen St. Doors open at 6 p.m., and entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. For those who can't attend, the ceremony will be filmed and aired on YourTV at 7 p.m. May 13 on Channel 10/HD 700/EPICO 100.
