Chace Xavier is back for new challenges

By Cecilia Nasmith

Last year, Chace Xavier celebrated his 12th birthday with an incredible fundraising challenge in support of Ed's House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre.

For his 13th birthday, he's ready to do it again – which is amazing, considering the nature of last year's challenge (or is it challenges?).

The Burnham Public School student let it be know that, for every $500 donation, he would accept a new challenge. In the end, that meant taking a mud bath, getting a pie in the face, losing some weight, dyeing his hair blue, staging a fashion show down his street and – on his actual birthday – getting his head shaved.

All challenges were posted on Facebook, and they will be again this year.

Chace’s 2021 Ed’s House challenges

Chace's challenges proved irresistible in 2021, as his original goal to raise $500 turned into a donation for Ed's House of more than $4,300.

Commenting on this successful venture, Chace said he felt connected to the cause “because it's local, and it's a great cause.

“When I handed the cheque to Ed's House last year, it felt so good...to see it succeed...the smiles and happiness it brings and the fat that I can help others.”

Chace officially becomes a teenager May 27, and is celebrating with a second year of challenges – again, a new one for every $500 donated.

Community Care Northumberland offers heartfelt thanks to this incredible young man for his continued support, and invites you to follow along as the adventures unfold.

If you would like to help, send your donations to his mother's e-mail at nicole2009@gmail.co or visit the Ed's House website at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/m/33152/donation

If you donate on the website, don't forget to put Chace's name in the notes section so the family can keep track.
