Following last month's municipal election, the Town of Cobourg invites members of the public to attend the Nov. 15 inaugural meeting of the new complement of council.
That would be Mayor Lucas Cleveland, Deputy Mayor Nicole Beatty and Councillors Adam Bureau, Aaron Burchat, Brian Darling, Miriam Mutton and Randy Barber.
The Inaugural Council Meeting is where the new Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillors take the Oath of Allegiance and Declaration of Office for the 2022-2026 term. The council agenda for that evening will include remarks from Northumberland-Peterborough South MP Philip Lawrence and MPP David Piccini, followed by Cleveland's inaugural address and the official appointment of the mayor as the town's representative at Northumberland County Council (with Deputy Mayor Beatty as his alternate).
The meeting takes place at 7 p.m. at the Victoria Hall Concert Hall. A reception will follow, providing an opportunity for members of the public to meet-and-greet with the new incumbents.
