Graffiti vandal caught

The evening of Saturday, January 8, 2022, Cobourg police responded to the area of King Street and Ball Street for a report of a group of young persons spray painting properties. Police located three individuals matching descriptions provided. The three individuals fled, but police arrested one male who had a bag of spray paint.

The police investigation revealed multiple areas tagged from King Street to Kerr Street.

One male has been charged with four counts of mischief under $5,000 and was on an undertaking with conditions and a court date in February 2022. The investigation into the identities of the other persons of interest continues, and additional charges are pending. 

Businesses and homeowners near downtown Cobourg and westward with unreported incidents of graffiti are asked to contact police or report online at cobourgpoliceservice.com/online-reporting
