The Bee Works announces its grand opening

By Cecilia Nasmith

There have been some big changes at the site of the former Welcome produce market, and you are invited to drop in for any of the special events that will introduce you to The Bee Works during the week of July 26.

It was almost two years ago then-Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP Kim Rudd was on the site of the produce market with The Dancing Bee owner and chief executive officer Todd Kalisz to announce a Federal grant to help get his plans kick-started. Located within sight of Highway 401, it is beautifully situated to be something of a hub to the beekeeping community – and build on their record as Canada's number-one supplier of beekeeping equipment.

Now it's time to celebrate how far The Dancing Bee has come with a visit to The Bee Works, 5029 County Rd. 2 north of Port Hope. A week-long grand-opening series of events is planned, with sales, tours, beekeeping demonstrations, barbecue, games and more.
