Originally scheduled for May 13-15, the Cobourg Marina Boat Lift-In operations will be postponed until further notice.
The decision was made between marina staff and the Town of Cobourg's Emergency Control Group, who evaluated the process from a safety perspective. Though boat lift-in activity is permitted at marinas under current provincial regulations, the process in Cobourg involves a number of volunteers. In the interests of their safety and compliance with the Stay-At-Home Order, it was decided that the lift should be postponed.
“We understand this is unfortunate news for our boaters,” Community Services Division Deputy Director Teresa Behan said in the announcement.
“However, community safety is paramount and, in keeping with the current Stay-At-Home Order rand enacted Emergency Declaration, we must ensure all necessary safety protocols and public-health regulations and guidelines are enforced.”
The Town of Cobourg and marina staff thank everyone for their patience and consideration.
A revised lift-in date will be communicated when the Stay-At-Home Order has been lifted. For more information, call the marina office at 905-372-2397.
