Cornerstone launches Hope Grows Lottery

Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre announces its new fundraising initiative, the Hope Grows Lottery: New Futures Start Here.
For the community, it's a chance at a $10,000 cash prize.
For many local women and children impacted by violence, it's a chance for a new future free from abuse, as proceeds will support the vital programs and services offered by Cornerstone.
“If the pandemic has taught us anything it is that violence thrives in isolation, and staying connected is vital,” Executive Director Nancy Johnston said in the announcement.
“We see Cornerstone’s Hope Grows Lottery as a chance for a fresh start.
“The Hope Grows Lottery will be an exciting initiative for the community, providing an opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives, and bring some joy to many during an incredibly challenging time. There may only be one lucky ticket drawn, but there will be many winners as a result of this initiative,” Johnston added.
“By participating in the Hope Grows Lottery, the community is helping to raise funds for the programs and services women and children impacted by violence so desperately need,” Manager of Communications and Donor Relations Carly Cunningham said.
“We are grateful to the local businesses and organizations who helped make this initiative a reality, and hope the community will get behind it. The Lottery is a great way to have some fun in a distanced way, and make an impact on the community.”
Only 750 tickets are available at $50 each or three for $125, and they will go on sale May 17 at Cornerstone's Resource Centre in Cobourg or online at cornerstonenorthumberland.ca/lottery via a tickjet order form – or call 905-372-1545.
Ticket sales will end at midnight on June 21, and the draw takes place June 28 at 10 a.m.
