Northumberland council retroactively makes April Dig Safe Month

In this week’s county council meeting, council approves making April 2021 “Dig Safe Month,” among other events in the coming months. 

Some other events that were announced include:

National Volunteer Week from April 18 - 24, 2021 in honour of Northumberland and 12.7 million Canadian volunteers.

National Day of Mourning on April 28, 2021, in which the flags will be lowered in honour of the Canadian workers who have been killed, disabled or injured in the workplace.

First Responders day on May 1, 2021, in honour of the first responders who dedicate their lives to public service.

Emergency Preparedness Week and Safety and Health Week will be happening from May 2-8, 2021.
