Cramahe Township services go virtual after Christmas

The Cramahe Township municipal offices will close for the holiday Dec. 24 through Jan. 3, but the township has issued a press release announcing how the reopening will be handled.
Following the rise of COVID-19 cases, the reopening of the office at 1 Toronto St. in Colborne will be one where the doors remain locked. Services will be available to the public on an appointment-only basis – visit the township website at www.cramahe.ca for contact info on the desired department, or call 905-355-2821 ext. 0 for further information.
Cheques and payments can be made through the municipal drop box at the Colborne municipal office, as well as by mail, telephone and on-line banking for taxes.
Garbage bag tags can be purchased at a number of retail locations in the community, or ordered on-line through the Northumberland County website (www.northumberland.ca).

The Colborne and Castleton branches of the Cramahe Township Library are open Dec. 29, 30 and 31 (see cramahelibrary.ca for details) with certain conditions applying – masks for everyone aged three and older and a strict capacity limit of eight patrons in the Colborne branch and five in the Castleton branch. Council meetings will be held virtually, beginning with the one on Jan. 11. Members of the public can watch council, committee of the whole and planning committee meetings live, or archived on the township's YouTube channel.
