The Town of Cobourg is pleased to introduce reloadable Cobourg Transit Smart Cards, now available for riders who would like to pay their fares in advance – or utilize the convenience of contact less payment.
Cobourg Transit Smart Cards are available as a monthly pass, or as a 10- or 20-Ride Pass, with a one-time $5 fee for the first card purchased.
“We are pleased to offer our Cobourg Transit riders the option to purchase Smart Cards as part of our continual improvements to the public-transit sector,” Director of Public Works Laurie Wills said in the announcement.
“The Smart Cards provide a convenient way to pre-purchase rides for yourself or someone else, and avoid needing cash or tickets.”
The monthly pass is $60 for adults, $50 for students and $30 for seniors. A 10-ride pass is $20, while a 20-ride pass is $40.
You can make your purchase at cobourg.ca/smartcards and choose to receive your card in the mail, pick it up in person at Victoria Hall (55 King St. W.) or – for an extra service charge – by courier.
After the first purchase, subsequent passes will be loaded on to the customer's existing card and can be purchased by calling 905-372-4555, visiting the Finance Department in Victoria Hall or going to cobourg.ca/smartcards.
The 10- and 20-ride passes can also be reloaded on-board any transit vehicle.
