The Town of Cobourg has cancelled all Canada Day activities to help slow the spread of coronavirus.
On April 2nd the Town of Cobourg announced the cancellation of this year’s Waterfront Festival from July 1-4. At their council meeting on Monday the town decided to cancel the rest of the Canada Day activities including the annual parade and fireworks display.
Mayor John Henderson said in a press release that although Canada Day will not feel the same in Cobourg as it has for the last few decades the Town of Cobourg is still encouraging all residents to continue to celebrate the nation’s birthday, while following physical distancing guidelines and procedures.
