Northumberland United Way relief fund launched

As we prepare for the inevitability of the spread of COVID-19 to our community, our partners are working harder than ever to ensure the residents of Northumberland County have what they need to stay healthy and supported during this time. As our local demographic includes many people in the high-risk range and as the Federal and Provincial governments support enhanced diagnostic and treatment efforts in healthcare, our social service community partners remain dependent on the generosity of local donors like you. Our partners provide essential services like shelter, food, mental health supports, and unfunded health-related items, so they will be likely to be overloaded and looking for help.

In response to this pandemic and in an effort to be proactive, we have developed the United Way Northumberland COVID-19 Community Relief Fund. Every dollar raised through this initiative will go directly back into local programs and services that need it most.

As school, office, and organization closures continue, Canada Helps is encouraging those that may need to self-quarantine to still support local charities in their efforts to ensure local residents have what they need.

Over the last 50 years, this community has come together with United Way in times of need. Whether we think back to 911, the Syrian Refugee Crisis, or the unexpected closures of essential programs or services in Northumberland, our residents take care of one another and will continue to do so.

We will be working closely with all not-for-profits in Northumberland County over the coming weeks to respond where support is needed most and, with your help, we will ensure our residents continue to live healthy lives.

United Way Northumberland is asking that donations be made either online or by mail at:
