Cobourg announces council suspension

By Cecilia Nasmith

An item of business from the March 16 Cobourg council meeting was a temporary suspension in the council-meeting schedule.

A motion was passed that, in an effort to stem the spread of COVID-19 through social distancing, suspended council meetings until April 6.

Cobourg council meets on a three-week rotation – committee-of-the-whole meeting, regular council meeting and one week with no council meeting. There would have been no council meeting March 23 in the normal order of things, but the motion also suspends the March 30 meeting.
