In advance of the March 6 Business Achievement Awards, the Town of Cobourg and the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce have announced Garry Liboiron of Century 21 All-Pro Realty (1993) Ltd. As this year's winner of the James Crossen Lifetime Achievement Award.
Named after the president of the famous Cobourg Car Works that served the Canadian railroad community while providing hundreds of jobs – and was headquartered on George Street – the annual award recognizes outstanding lifetime achievement and contribution to the business community.
Liboiron said in the announcement that receiving this prestigious award is an honour he proudly shares with his wife and business partner Liz, “who has been instrumental in our fundraising and charitable endeavours.
“My daughters are also a huge part of our success, and have become a large asset to our business and our sales representatives.”
Liboiron is a strong supporter of local business and the local community. As a member of the Rotary Club of Cobourg, he has assisted in raising millions of dollars for both local and international causes.
“His values centre on contributing locally, giving back to his community, and helping others and embracing his family business to which he speaks highly of the loyalty and knowledge from his sales team who embrace over 25 years of service,” the press release said.
“Both he and wife Liz believe strongly in the motto, 'Givers Gain.'”
The actual James Crossen Award will be presented at the Business Achievement Awards event on March 6, emceed by Joel Scott at the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn and Convention Centre.
