Cobourg urges residents to remember warming centres

By Cecilia Nasmith

The Town of Cobourg reminds residents of the warming centres throughout the community for those seeking relief from the cold temperatures – especially those for whom such conditions are riskiest, such as young children, older adults, those with chronic illnesses, those without proper shelter, and people working or exercising outdoors.

The list of these centres includes:

Victoria Hall (55 King St. W.), where the foyer is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Cobourg Community Centre (750 D'Arcy St.), which is open Mondays through Thursdays 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Northumberland Mall (1111 Elgin St. W.), which is open weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cobourg Police Station (107 King St. W.), where the Comfort Centre is open daily around the clock.

Cobourg Public Library (200 Ontario St.), which is open Mondays through Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
