Lakefront Utilities gets perfect score

Recent inspections conducted by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks of all four of the water systems managed and operated by Lakefront Utility Services Inc. got two thumbs up.

The Cobourg, Grafton and Colborne water systems, along with portions of the Township of Hamilton water -distribution system managed by Lakefront Utility Services Inc., all received a final rating of 100% during their most recent Drinking Water System Inspection Reports.

“This latest round of perfect scores adds to LUSI’s long history of surpassing industry standards for the water systems managed by Lakefront Utility Services Inc.,” the announcement stated.

Water system operations in Ontario are governed by provincial regulations, as well as by the terms and conditions prescribed in Drinking Water Works Permits and Municipal Drinking Water Licences issued by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks. The process includes rigourous annual inspections to ensure that LUSI operations are in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.

The ministry inspections utilized a comprehensive multi-barrier approach that focused on the source, treatment and distribution components as well as management practices.

“Lakefront is proud that our staff’s dedication and commitment to continual improvement in all aspects of the operation and management of these drinking water systems, has resulted in the highest achievable scoring,” Lakefront Manager of Water Operations Shawn Bolender commented in the press release.
