Delicious Dates dining in Port Hope runs Jan. 24 to Feb. 9

By Cecilia Nasmith

Between Jan. 24 and Feb. 9, Port Hope invites you to celebrate local food as the annual Delicious Dates program offers up 10 restaurants, pubs and cafes with prix fixe menu options.

Deputy Mayor Les Andrews – council co-ordinator for the Community Development Department through which the program is managed - said in the announcement that Delicious Dates is a great way for locals and tourists alike to experience some of the municipality's amazing businesses.

“Municipal staff continually strive to plan and host events and programs that meet the wants and needs of our residents, and that attract tourists to our community. This event does just that, and we’re looking forward to the experience once again,” Andrews said.

The event will be hosted by business owners in both urban and rural locations, with prix fixe options at both lunch- and dinnertime that range from $15 to $45 per person (plus HST). Nine establishments in the downtown area are taking part, as well as the Screaming Goat Cafe on the Haute Goat farm.

It's a wonderful opportunity to visit Port Hope and see what the municipality has to offer – or, if you're a local, try something new and support the local fare.
