County wants your help to get GO

By Cecilia Nasmith

In order to help make a high-level business case for an expansion of GO Transit to the community, Northumberland County is seeking public input by Feb. 10.

The county is preparing the business case for Metrolinx to highlight the local need, interest and opportunity for increased transit options, witihin Northumberland and connecting to neighbouring regional transit systems.

“We heard loud and clear during public consultations for the Transportation Master Plan that improved transit, including options that better connect our community to neighbouring regions, is a high priority for our residents and businesses,” Warden Bob Sanderson stated in the county press release.

“Working with Metrolinx to explore opportunities for expansion of GO services to our community is an important part of this process. We invite all community members to share their thoughts in this survey.”

The GO Expansion Business Case & Economic Impact Study Survey is now available on-line at Northumberland.ca/GOTransit, with hard copies also available at local municipal and county offices.
