Expect transit detours in Cobourg Saturday

By Cecilia Nasmith

Cobourg will be bustling Saturday, with the annual Harvest Festival downtown and the boat lift-outs in the harbour.

To accommodate these important events, Cobourg Transit will be experiencing detours and possible delays, and drivers will face road closures.

The road closures include all of Second Street and portions of two other roads – King Street West between Division and Spring streets, and a small section at the south end of Third Street near the boat storage.

For transit riders on Route One, the bus will miss the :44 stop on Division Street and access the terminal instead by travelling west on University Avenue then south on Spring Street to Albert Street. All other stops remain unchanged.

On Route Two, terminal stops will be moved to the corner of Albert and Third streets near the old jail. The :43 stop on Spring Street will move from south of Orange Street to north of Orange Street, with all other stops remaining unchanged.

Passengers can expect delays on both routes.
