Movies In The Park brings family-friendly films to the big screen

By Cecilia Nasmith

Another summer, another great line-up for the Town of Cobourg's Movies In The Park.

This year's film line-up for Victoria Park includes three features that will be a hit with family members both young and old – Shrek on July 13, Ralph Breaks The Internet on Aug. 3, and Night At The Museum on Aug. 24, all starting at 8:30 p.m.

It's a wonderful way to enjoy a summer Saturday night that is also free. All you need is your popcorn and your beach blanket or lawn chair, as you get comfortable and prepare for a film under the stars. A giant inflatable outdoor screen and a powerful video projector with concert-quality sound system will do the rest.

“When you're looking for something to do with your family, partner or group of friends, why not create some memories and watch a movie in beautiful Victoria Park,” Councillor Adam Bureau said in the town;s press release.

Bureau added a reminder that parking along the waterfront after 6 p.m. is also free, and that the Beach Hutt canteen and washrooms will be open for the duration of each movie.

Movie nights are subject to weather cancellation, which could include lightning or other unsafe weather conditions. Notices of cancellation will be posted on Experience Cobourg social-media channels (Twitter and Facebook) as well as the town website (cobourg.ca).

The town extends its thanks to Cameco as this year's Movies In The Park sponsor.
