Summer's Victoria Park events previewed at council
By Cecilia Nasmith
A look at how summer is shaping up in Cobourg's Victoria Park was on display at this week's council meeting, as several perennial events sought municipally-significant status in order to obtain special-occasion permits.
As a result, the Lions Club of Cobourg will now be able to operate their traditional refreshment tent as part of the 2019 Waterfront Festival, June 27 through July 1.
Also on June 27, a refreshment tent will be set up for the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation's Wine and Ale In The Park, a fundraiser for the hospital that is expected to draw 200 people.
In August, the Rotary Club of Cobourg will host the annual Northumberland Ribfest, with both entertainment and refreshments daily between Aug. 16 and 18.
