Two signs of spring come to Cobourg

By Cecilia Nasmith

Two reliable signs of spring are coming to Cobourg – marina lift-in operations and the Cobourg Greenhouse annual open house.

The town has issued a press release outlining detours Cobourg Transit will make to accommodate the marina lift-in April 26 and 27.

On Friday, April 26, Cobourg Transit will be stopping in front of the Legion Village main doors instead of the transit shelter on Hibernia St., while Route 2 will bypass the marina stop.

On both days, Cobourg Transit will not be stopping at the marina on Third Street. For more information, contact the engineering department at 905-372-4555.

Meanwhile, May 11 is set for the open house at the greenhouse, located at 501 Thompson St.

Parks staff have been busy seeding and transplanting the flowers that soon will be planted in this year's public flower beds and hung in flower baskets around town. To celebrate the start of the 2019 gardening season, they welcome you to the greenhouse for a preview of what flowers will be making an appearance in this year's gardens.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a Gerbera Daisy will be given to the first 100 attendees (while supplies last).
