Have your say on Cobourg council's rules of order and proceedings Jan. 28

By Cecilia Nasmith

An extensive review of an updated council-procedural bylaw at Monday's committee-of-the-whole Cobourg council meeting has resulted in an updated draft on which you can have your say at a Jan. 28 public meeting.

Among other things, the review resulted in such prospective changes as an adjustment to council and committee-of-the-whole meeting times and a regularly set open forum at which citizens can make comments or have questions answered.

The public meeting's agenda should be on the Town of Cobourg civic web portal (https://cobourg.civicweb.net) by Jan. 10, and the town's press release sets out a number of ways citizens can participate and offer their input.

  • Tune in to follow the meeting (if you cannot attend) at the town's YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/towncobourg).

  • If you wish to make your own presentation at the meeting, provide a written submission to Municipal Clerk Brent Larmer (e-mail blarmer@cobourg.ca or call 905-372-4301 ext. 4401 for more details) by Jan. 28.

  • Similarly, if you wish to provide comments, forward them to Larmer by Jan. 28.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in council chambers, on the third floor east at Victoria Hall, 55 King St. W.
