The giant 50th annual Sidewalk Sale followed by a holiday Monday is causing five days of changes to Cobourg transit that the town wishes to inform its citizens about.
The Sidewalk Sale takes place Thursday, Aug. 2, through Sunday, Aug. 5, blocking the downtown to traffic and, consequently, causing some changes to the transit service.
Delays can be expected on both Routes One and Two, with a few adjustments for each one.
The Route One bus will miss the 44 stop on Division Street, and will access the Albert Street terminal by travelling west on University Avenue and then turning south on Spring Street to Albert. All other stops remain the same.
The Route Two bus will have its terminal stops moved to Third Street beside the Third Street parking lot. All other stops remain the same,
With the James Cockburn holiday falling on Monday, Aug. 6, both the conventional and Wheels Transit buses will be operating on a reduced schedule, both services running from 6:15 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. that day.
For more information, call the town's engineering department at 905-372-4556.
