Northumberland OPP will be out in full force over the Canada Day weekend to curb aggressive driving.
Officers are focusing on distracted driving, drinking, and driving, speeding, as well as seatbelt compliance.
Traffic safety is a daily concern on roadways especially during a long weekend when roads are much busier with the public travelling to their vacation destinations.
The Northumberland area brings a considerable increase of traffic with cottagers and campers visiting the area to enjoy time with family and friends.
The OPP will also be monitoring waterways and trails as boating and off-roading expected to be favourite activities over the weekend, ensuring that boaters and off-roaders are obeying the law and keeping themselves safe.
