A 26-year old Port Hope man wanted by the Kawartha Lakes Police Service was discovered hiding under a blanket in a Port Hope basement during a search Sunday afternoon.

Port Hope police responded to a call regarding a disturbance at an east-end home on June 24 at
2:30 p.m.

It was reported earlier that there was a loud argument going in the house. When officers arrived, no one responded after repeated attempts to have someone come to the door. Police forced their way into the house to check on the residents. Once inside, a man and a
woman were found. The man was located in the basement hiding under a blanket. After checking, the man was found to be unlawfully at large. He was taken into custody and delivered to the Kawartha Lakes Police.

The woman was interviewed and found not to need help.
