Barrett Street Bridge Update

Barrett St. Bridge Update (09-22-17).JPG

The Barrett Street Bridge is nearing completion. The bridge framework is installed, the approaches from the east and west have been completed along with the necessary curbing, and the road bed plates have been installed.  Only the sealing of the road bed plates and the actual paving remain.

On Friday, Northumberland 89.7's Week in Review reported the new bridge will, in fact, be opened as a 2 lane bridge and not as a 1 way bridge, as had been previously reported.

The official opening of the bridge is set for Tuesday October 17th at 2:00 p.m.

This fall in Port Hope will be in stark contrast to last year's when the temporary Bailey Bridge was deemed unsafe and had to be shut down in November.
