Robbery Suspect Arrested

On the 14th day of January, 2017 a Gas Station in the northern end of the Town of Cobourg was robbed. The lone suspect brandished a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect left the premise with a quantity of cash. No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The suspect was subsequently arrested by the Waterloo Regional Police Service on other charges and held in custody. The suspect was released on the 11th day of July and arrested by the Cobourg Police Service on outstanding warrants.

Dylan Scremin, 23 years of age from Kitchener has been charged with 20 Criminal Code offences. Dylan Scremin will be held for Bail attending court at 130 PM on the 12th day of July, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 860 William Street in the Town of Cobourg.

Dylan Scremin was charged with the following offences

Disguise with Intent contrary to section 351(2) of the Criminal Code

Carrying concealed weapon contrary to section CC 90 of the Criminal Code

Imitation Firearm - Use while attempting to commit offence contrary to section 85(2)(b) of the Criminal Code

Attempt Robbery contrary to section 344(&)(660) of the Criminal Code

Disguise with Intent contrary to section 351(2) of the Criminal Code

Carrying concealed weapon contrary to section 90 of the Criminal Code

Imitation Firearm - Use while committing offence contrary to section 85(2)(a) of the Criminal Code

Robbery with Theft contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

2 Counts of Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 contrary to section 355(b) of the Criminal Code

10 Counts of Fail to comply with probation contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
