Greetings, I am Mark Bateman. I enjoyed over two decades of professional experience in Human Resources and 4 years as a Municipal Councillor. For the past four years, I have served as the Planning Communication Officer for a 200-unit affordable rental project.
I have resided in Brighton for over 30 years, with 20 of those years spent in rural Brighton. I maintain an active involvement within our municipality. I have enjoyed coaching roles for hockey, soccer, baseball, and other activities, including Vice President and President of Brighton Minor Hockey. For the past four years, I have collaborated with the NHL Alumni in support of Special Olympics Ontario.
Brighton offers a rich tapestry of urban, rural, and agricultural landscapes. While acknowledging areas for improvement, I am dedicated to actively listening to all residents and supporting initiatives that further enhance our beautiful municipality. I am committed to enhancing affordability and ensuring optimal valve for your tax contributions. It is imperative that tax revenues are strategically allocated to address essential needs, as sustained prosperity cannot be achieved solely through taxation.
I am dedicated to preserving our Municipality’s unique identity through judicious and sustainable growth initiatives. I am committed to ensuring that all communities within Brighton, encompassing our rural residents, agricultural sector, and urban residents, are heard and treated with integrity, respect, and inclusivity. Every resident, including our youth, merits continuous representation and respect throughout the year. My focus will be on addressing the essential needs within our municipality, which fall under our direct responsibility.
I will collaborate with the elected council to advocate for our needs that are provincial and federal responsibilities, recognizing our integral role in these broader governmental functions.
Contact me any time, I’m here to listen.
