A Campbellford woman is facing an impaired driving charge following an alleged three-vehicle collision in Cavan-Monaghan Township Saturday night.
Peterborough County OPP said just before 10:30 P.M., a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 7, just north of Morton Line crossed the centerline, causing a crash with two northbound vehicles.
“Officers arrived on scene and were assisted by Peterborough Police Service in closing Highway 7 in an effort to deal with the collision. Officers spoke with one of the vehicle drivers who stated they were travelling northbound behind another vehicle. The vehicle in front suddenly swerved as a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction crossed over the centre line resulting in the collision,” stated a press release from Peterborough OPP.
Authorities allege the driver of the southbound vehicle, Amanda Rector displayed signs of impairment and was arrested. She had her license suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days. Rector will appear in provincial court on February 4, 2025.
