The Town of Cobourg reminds everyone that the nomination period for this year's municipal election began Monday morning at 8:30 a.m.
In Cobourg, a mayor, deputy mayor, municipal councillors and school board trustees will be elected on Oct. 24, and interested candidates can now file nomination papers at the Municipal Clerk's office in Victoria Hall (55 King St. W.) weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. until Nomination Day (Aug. 19) at 2 p.m.
“A potential candidate must file nomination papers prior to receiving any campaign contributions and/or expending any funds on a campaign,” the announcement stressed.
Candidate Information Packages can be picked up at the Municipal Clerk's office, with all information required to proceed with a nomination. Interested individuals are encouraged to schedule a time to meet with the Municipal Clerk to review this information and learn more about the process.
