The Cobourg Farmers' Market will soon be back in its old location – around the oval on Albert Street where the fountain is installed each summer.
It's been a slow ramp-up, Councillor Adam Bureau said at this week's council meeting, going from an all-on-line format to gradually allowing in-person customers.
“The Cobourg Farmers' Market Association reports they have been able to hold three very active and successful markets in which both foods and crafts were sold,” Bureau reported.
“Customer and vendor participation is increasing weekly, especially as more and more local foods come into season.
“Some customers continue to pre-order, but the preference for direct on-site participation is overwhelming. They are eager to get back to the oval.”
Bureau thanked Angela Stewart of the association, as well as municipal clerk Brent Larmer and bylaw-enforcement officers for their work in getting through this process.
“They have been helping and showing us different ways to improve the market, and making sure everyone has a safe and happy time at the market,” Bureau said.
