Collin Whitehouse
The Town of Cobourg would like to advise citizens that marblemedia will be filming a new production for Canada’s Landscape Artist of the Year (based on a UK television production) in Cobourg on Sunday, September 22, 2019 with approximately 45 cast and crew members.
An award-winning independent production company, marblemedia creates premium content for Canadian and global audiences. A similar production by Marble Media featuring a glassblowing competition called “Blown Away” is streaming now on Makeful and Netflix. In this new unscripted series, marblemedia invited six artists from across Canada to paint beautiful and dynamic landscapes within a four hour time limit. Each artist is given a “studio pod” to paint within to capture the landscape. In this episode, the artists are challenged to paint the incredible vista of the Cobourg Marina.
On Saturday, September 21st, five crew members will unload the studio pod structures that will be built along the Esplanade park area. There will be security over-night. On Sunday, September 22, the full cast and crew will film the episode and will be completed by 8 p.m.
Filming locations include:
· Esplanade Park Area
· Cobourg Marina – Grass Area (artists will be positioned on chairs)
· Cobourg Marina – Parking Lot (tents will be positioned on grass area)
Film productions vehicles will arrive on Saturday, September 21 and will park in assigned areas at:
· The Esplanade at the Cobourg Marina
· Cobourg Marina parking lot on Third Street
Closure Notices:
· There are no road closures to-date
Cobourg Police Services will be working directly with the production company to ensure safety and traffic control.
