More than 1.6-million Fiat-Chrysler vehicles are being recalled worldwide to fix airbag issues.
The recall will be expanded to include an estimated 88,830 vehicles in Canada.
At least 23 people have died after the Takata airbag inflators that can hurl shrapnel into drivers or passengers, but it’s not known how many, if any, were in Fiat-Chrysler vehicles.
The issue sparked the largest automotive recall in U.S. history.
