About 7,000 people swarmed downtown Cobourg this past weekend for the always delicious and rocking food and music festival!
The Downtown Business Improvement Area president Adam Bureau from Cobourg's Buy and Sell expressed the event was "very well done, some cancellations of trucks but we made do. It was very well attended and a great event."
Bureau praised Paige Wiggins, DBIA events and communications coordinator for doing a fantastic job organizing the event.
This year there were more food trucks , more participation from local restaurants with on-street set up and the brand new Treat Central.
Different music genres brought in more people, and the AC/DC tribute band was a huge crowdpleaser, Wiggins expressed.
"All these new features really did bring down more people! We had also created an environment by grouping picnic tables in long rows covered in the gingham table cloths. It created a 'let’s eat together' ambiance and you saw friendships and neighborly discussion over food. There were all ages at the event from babies to seniors, and it was very pet friendly." Wiggins stated.
The DBIA is currently reviewing the events lineup for next year in August, they d expect to host another food and music festival in 2019 due to the amazing response from both last and this year.
"Thank you to the Downtown Cobourg businesses for funding this event, along with the 9 others that take place in the year, that would be greatly appreciated. And that up next is the 50th Annual Sidewalk Sale at the start of August." Wiggins thanked everyone who came out along with those who funded and participated in this event.
Keep an eye out for all the great events coming up this summer!
