Third Act Productions Filming of “Largo”
Port Hope Council heard on Tuesday night, that Third Act Productions filming of the feature movie “Largo” will cause some automobile and pedestrian traffic shutdowns during sequences being filmed on July 30th and 31 st in downtown Port Hope.
On July 30th , the area along Walton Street between Queen Street and Mill Street will experience intermittent traffic stoppages along Walton and Mill Streets during a "walk and talk"; scene with actors walking along Walton Street to Mill Street between 2pm and 8pm; however, there will be no movie activity between 4pm and 5pm to allow workers and patrons in the area to leave their work sites.
On July 31 st , Queen Street between Walton and Augusta Streets will be shut down for the installation of a large sun control device over Queen Street supported by a crane with appropriate tie-offs between the hours of 7am to 2pm.
If you are planning to be in the downtown area on those days, you are advised to make alternate travel arrangements and to expect some delays in the area.
Draft Financial Statements Approved
Port Hope Council on Tuesday night approved the 2017 Draft Financial Statements. The statements show a surplus of approximately $3.9 million dollars resulting from increased revenues of just over $778 million, of which just over $725 million came from additional property tax revenue.
The Balance Sheet showed an increase in Asset values and a decrease in Liabilities and Deferred Income. The Finance Department continues to show strong financial leadership and has and continues to implement strategies to improve the overall financial picture of the
Municipality.
