Graffiti Suspect Turns Himself In
Port Hope Police have concluded their investigation into the discovery of graffiti on the wall of the Ganaraska River.
In a social media post, Jeremiah Jerm confesses he painted the graffiti.
He says that he shouldn't have to come to Port Hope to paint over swastikas, that the town should have. He claims the mural was for anyone with mental health, addiction issues, or has experienced sexual abuse. He says, we are in this together and you are not alone.
He ends the posting by saying he turned himself in to Police Tuesday night and was released on a promise to appear.
Port Hope Police confirmed to 89-7 News that the suspect did turn himself in.
Meanwhile a group of 5 Port Hope residents were spotted yesterday painting the wall trying to cover over the graffiti. An example of true Port Hope community spirit.
