Liberals Acclaim Rinaldi
Lou Rinaldi was acclaimed Thursday evening as the Liberal candidate for the new Northumberland-Peterborough South provincial riding. The riding of Northumberland-Quinte West which Rinaldi currently represents disappears in the next election scheduled for 2018 due to redistribution.
Rinaldi had his name placed in nomination by representatives from the west and east boundaries of the riding. Clarington Ward 4 Councillor Wendy Partner nominated Rinaldi and Queen's University student and Brighton resident Ryan Cathey seconded the nomination.
Guest speaker, the Hon. Glenn Thibeault, Ontario Minister of Energy, praised the work of Caucus Chair Lou Rinaldi describing him as an essential liaison between the Cabinet and caucus.
Rinaldi accepted the nomination saying he enjoys working for his constituents and looks forward to serving the new portions of the riding including Orono and Newcastle and area south of Peterborough.
