Cobourg Police Lower Flags
In the wake of the horrific domestic terrorist attack in Las Vegas, Nevada, where at least 59 people, including three Canadians, are now confirmed dead and over 500 wounded, Cobourg Police Chief Kai Liu has directed that the Cobourg Police Service place all flags at half-mast to express its collective sense of sorrow and loss.
Flags are recognized as paramount symbols of a nation, and the act of half-masting is a dramatic visual statement that speaks to the sense of loss that is shared.
With hundreds of people from many countries being injured or murdered, the Police Service’s heart-felt respect and remembrance is offered in this gesture, for the families and friends of those who have lost their lives, and for those who have been injured, with the hope for a speedy recovery.
