The Cobourg and District Sports Hall of Fame today announced that it is accepting nominations of local sports athletes and builders for election to the Cobourg and District Sports Hall of Fame in 2020.
Established in 2017, the Cobourg and District Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to documenting the history of local sports, preserving local sports memorabilia and honouring those local athletes and builders who have excelled in sports. With the support of the Town of Cobourg and the generosity of many local sponsors, the Cobourg and District Sports Hall of Fame showcases rotating exhibits at the Cobourg Community Centre selected from over 800 pieces of sports memorabilia.
In June, 2019, Paul Currelly, Layton Dodge, Fred Dufton, Don Ito, Marty Kernaghan, Frank Mazza, Bill O’Neil and Steve Smith became the first individuals officially inducted to the Cobourg and District Sports Hall of Fame.
