Northumberland Learning Connection will present a pop-up forum on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at 2 pm. at C.R. Gummow Public School, 311 Cottesmore Avenue, Cobourg.
It started with accusations ranging from rape to sexual harassment by more than 50 women against Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein. Then came the #MeToo movement, the downfall of more media celebrities and most recently the resignation of four Canadian political leaders over allegations of sexual misconduct.
Now questions are being raised about false accusations. Is it 'fair' to jeopardize a career over an accusation? What happened to "proof"? And what is going on in minimum-wage workplaces?
There is a lot to talk about.
Northumberland Learning Connection presents another provocative community forum, Beyond Harvey Weinstein, with panelists:
- Anne Kingston, Senior Writer and Columnist, Macleans Magazine
- Angela Khoury, Employment lawyer specializing in sexual misconduct
- Kim Blackwell, Artistic Director of 4th Line Theater
- Linda MacKenzie-Nicholas, labour advocate
Northumberland Learning Connection’s Karin Wells, lawyer and journalist, will moderate.
