HomeShare, the housing pilot program introduced last year by Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre, The Halliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit, Northumberland County and several other community partners, is seeking participants. The program aims to address our current lack of affordable housing and need for independent living options for women
The program is currently in need of female Home Owners to participate in the matching process. Home Owners should be living independently in their home, have an interest in having someone share household responsibilities, have a spare room to offer and an interest in companionship.
Home Sharing programs are successful, evidence-based initiatives that exist within Canada and around the world, with some programs running for more than 30 years. With a dynamic model, Home Sharing is more than just housing; it is about the relationship and companionship between two people based on respect, personal choice and maintaining dignity.
